Take that 'Clowns

This week ESPN.com published their college football "prestige rankings"...aka they ranked all the current Division 1A football schools based on their all-time performance. The top 5 were, in order: Oklahoma, USC, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Nebraska. I cannot really argue with those five, they are usually great (although I love the fact Notre Dame continues to slip).

My beloved Iowa Hawkeyes are ranked 30th all-time, and that would probably be higher had the 70's never occurred where Iowa finds itself tied for 113th. Thats what happens when you go a decade barely registering double digit wins TOTAL (surprisingly the Hawks weren't even the worst Big 10 squad during that decade, Illinois takes that prize).

The most enjoyable part of the entire rankings is finding out that Iowa State was 114th...or the 6th worst football team all-time, surrounded by suck powers as Texas-El Paso, Louisiana-Monroe, Eastern Michigan, and Temple. The only BCS conference school ranked lower is Vanderbilt (who is dead last). If only they COULD return to the 70s where they peaked with a ranking of 52nd. And they fired Dan McCarney why??
